A two-year-old female child died at the hospital after being found at the bottom of a pool in Elkmont Sunday.

According to Limestone County Coroner Mike West, the incident happened along Miller Lane in Elkmont. West said the child was found at the bottom of the pool.

The child was transported by Athens EMS and survival flight air medical to Huntsville Hospital where the child died.

The incident remains under investigation by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office.
