Giles County’s STAAR Theatre at Antoinette Hall is presenting a musical version of a beloved novel in November during five performances, two of which are dinner theatre beginning this weekend.

“Little Women, the Musical” is loosely based on the life of author Louisa May Alcott. Many young women have grown reading the touching story that follows the lives of the four March sisters while their father is away during the Civil War. During the course of the musical, theatergoers will meet each of the sisters in turn: Meg, the romantic soul; Beth, the gentle heart; Amy, the artistic beauty; and Jo, the aspiring writer. With the March family guests at STAAR Theatre will laugh and cry as they experience the ups and downs of life in the 1860s.

The play is geared toward adult audiences with an all-adult cast, but is it suitable for youth and children as well.

Opening is this weekend which features a dinner theater experience during which guests will enjoy a delicious meal beginning at 6 p.m. while taking in the production. Tickets are $30 for the meal, which includes an entree, sides, beverage, bread and dessert, all prepared to perfection by a local chef. Reservation deadline is today (Thursday).

Alternatively, if guests wish to experience the show without the meal, the play is presented on Sunday at 2 p.m. and on November 15th and 16th at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $12 to $20.

Tickets are available online at www.antoinettehall.com, or the box office at Pierchoski Law Firm next to STAAR Theatre on the historic Pulaski Square or by calling 931.363.7222.
