Southside Elementary School’s October Student of the Month is Alaycia Kirby.

According to her teacher, the fifth grader is a joy to have in class and brightens up any room she enters with her big smile. She starts the day off telling everyone she sees to have a good morning.

Students throughout the school and assistants love her and eagerly assist her during the school day.

Her mom said she is definitely a people person and friendly to everyone she meets. She added that Alaycia likes to help around the house by trying to sweep and mop and loves books, enjoys being read to and trying to read to others.

Alaycia also loves music and enjoys singing, including singing along while in church.
