Details regarding the federal sting operation which resulted in the arrest of 38 individuals across the Tennessee Valley have been released.

In a press conference Tuesday, officials from various agencies including the FBI, Attorney General’s office, Drug Enforcement Agency, Postal Service, and sheriff's departments in northern Alabama and Tennessee were present to answer questions regarding the arrests that occurred on October 9th and the collaborative work involved in the investigation.

Authorities said the arrests came after an investigation into a meth trafficking operation where the Mexican cartel,

c-j-n-g, was funneling meth into the area.

Approximately 75 pounds of meth and a kilo of cocaine were seized.

A total of 36 people were arrested and face a total of 142 charges.
