A once third-floor office at the Giles County Courthouse has changed its location and its name.

The Old Records Department, located for more than 30 years high atop the third floor, has been moved to the bottom of the stairs leading up to the former office.

The new name is Giles County Archives/Old Records Room.

Archivist Barbara Garrett Nicolson is now director and Clara M. Parker, co-founder of the Old Records Department in 1986 serves as Genealogist and Archivist.

The public is invited to an OPEN HOUSE Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Nicolson and Mrs. Parker will be answering questions about the workings of the Archives/Old Records Room.
