A Richland High School teacher is a finalist for the Presidential Awards in math and science.

Bob Ainsworth, Anatomy and Physiology teacher at Richland, has been recognized as a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

One hundred fifty science teachers in the state of Tennessee were nominated for the PAEMST, and Ainsworth has been chosen as one of 3 finalists.

He was recognized at the 2019 Teacher of the Year Gala on September 27th in Franklin.

Attending the gala were Richland Assistant Principal Scott Blair; Ainsworth and his wife, Edie; Richland RTI Coordinator Charlene Russell; and District 70 State Representative Clay Doggett.
