Giles County farmers are invited to a Beef Heifer Development School on Friday at the UT AgResearch and Education Center in Marshall County.

The one day school will include five presentations on heifer development strategies that improve reproductive performance and increase profitability. Topics include causes and prevention of abortive diseases, early pregnancy in beef heifers, an overview of fence line feeders and how reproductive failures influence long-term profitability.

The program also includes an update on the Tennessee Beef Heifer Development Center established in 2015.

The event is free and starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. Lunch is provided.
