Jim Stewart was elected the Teacher Leader Network representative during Thursday's monthly meeting of the Giles County School Board.

Also, during the meeting Assistant Director of School Keith Stacey told the board that he had two bids on building the ramp at Minor Hill School. The first bid was from Amramp and the company met all specification at a cost of $21,800 and the second bid was for materials only and the maintenance department would have to install the ramp.

Stacey said he recommended the first bid and the board unanimously voted to accept the bid from Amramp.

Board member Tommy Pope asked questions concerning Service Animals in all Giles County schools.  Some of the questions board members had were,  where the animal was trained, who takes care of the animal during school hours, what is this animal going to do during school with a student and also the animals shot record.

The board agreed to table the policy where Attorney Tim Underwood could return with answers to all questions at the next board meeting.

Consent agenda was approved which included cost of a non-resident student to attend local schools, general fixed assets, insurance management, JoAnn Beam of the Giles County Health Council to speak at both high schools, soccer coaching supplement discrepancy and bids on custodial supplies to American Paper and Twine.
