A power outage early today (Thursday) affected approximately 6,400 customers of Pulaski Electric System on the west side of Giles County and the Pulaski area.

Just after 7 a.m. this morning (Thursday), P-E-S crews were dispatched to the Walter Anderson station where they found a flock of birds causing the power outage.

A spokesman at PES said an insulator was damaged and had to be replaced at the station.

Phone calls from customers with information about what they had seen or heard helped the P-E-S staff quickly isolate the area of interruption.

The power was restored at approximately 8:15 a.m.

P-E-S thanks all customers affected for their patience while the crews worked to restore power.
