Giles County Executive Melissa Green explained the need of a Human Resource Specialist for Giles County during a meeting of the County Commission Financial Management.

Greene said a resource specialist could be used at the discretion of department heads and elected officials.

According to Greene, the county has more than 200 employees and does not have a human relations department.

Because there are so many teachers and employees, the school system should have a separate human resource specialist, she added.

She said the specialist would take a lot of workload off the county attorney and is not required that all department heads use the service, but it is there if a person wants to use it.
