Shelves are beginning to empty at the Family Dollar Store in Village Square Shopping Center as the store plans to close in July.

Family Dollar continue closing procedures with 30 percent off storewide discounts this week and will begin 50 percent off next week. 

In a recent press release, Dollar Tree CEO Gary Philbin said he is confident that the company is taking the appropriate steps to reposition their Family Dollar brand for increasing profitability as business initiatives gain traction in the back half of fiscal 2019.

Three-hundred ninety Family Dollar locations will be closed.

Dollar Tree, owner of the store, has already closed 84 Family Dollar locations in the last quarter of the year.
