Officials are warning citizens of an alligator spotted in the Tennessee River near the walking trails at Point Mallard.

According to Decatur Parks and Recreation they have contacted Alabama Fish and Game to come out and address the issue.

They warn people to stay aware of their surroundings when participating in outdoor activities at the park.
