A Columbia man was killed  Friday night in a three-vehicle accident on Columbia Highway near Ella West Circle in Giles County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol reports show a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by 38-year-old Joshua Molnar of Lynnville was traveling north  and a 1998 Nissan Frontier truck driven by 65-year-old Andrew Harris from Columbia  was traveling south.

Harris' vehicle crossed the center lane and struck Molnar's truck and continued through a ditch, then crossed Ella West Road, and came to a rest in a field.

Harris was ejected from his truck and was thrown 75 feet away, and died in the crash.

Investigators said Harris was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

He was tested for drugs and alcohol and THP investigators confirmed  that Harris had both in his system.

After the accident a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by 29-year-old Charles Handschug of Pulaski struck debris from the accident that remained in the roadway.

Molnar nor Handschug was injured in the 9:30 p.m. accident.

THP Trooper T Hobbs is the lead investigating officer.
