Giles County Economic Development Commission has called a special meeting Friday to consider approving a new executive director.

According to Bobby Wynne, chairman of the EDC's Personnel Committee, the search has been narrowed down to five candidates.

The new EDC director replaces Bethany Shockney, who resigned March 1 to take a similar position in Limestone County, Alabama.

The noon meeting will be at Pulaski Electric System in the second floor Henry Sims Conference Room.
