During the Giles County Board of Education meeting last week the proposed budget amendment with exception of transportation routing software was approved.

The routing software was moved to the school board’s next work session for discussion.

Also, during the meeting the board recognized students from Giles County High School and Richland High School for their participation in the Columbia State Academic Competition.

In other business they heard from Law Rance Huff of the Giles County Veterans Alliance who presented plaques of appreciation to students and faculty of the GCHS Rotary Interact Club and the GCHS Future Business Leaders of America Club for their help with the Veterans Alliance’s pancake breakfast fund-raiser.

 Recognized Teacher Leaders in the school system and approved Christina Baxter as a volunteer softball coach at Bridgeforth Middle School.
