One person is in critical condition after a 3-alarm fire broke out an apartment complex for seniors in Lawrenceburg.

Lawrenceburg and New Prospect firefighters found heavy fire when they responded to the fire at Crockett Senior Housing on Old Florence Road just after 8 p.m. Friday. Second and third alarms were initiated, summoning more fire departments.

A person with critical injuries was discovered by firefighters and flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to the fire department.  One occupant was rescued from the building.

Firefighters held the fire to the one building. They extinguished the fire at around 11:30 p.m. 

Ten units are deemed a total loss and ten families are displaced, according to the fire department. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
