The Giles County Board of Commissioners have a meeting planned for Monday at the courthouse.

One of the first orders of business will be to choose a name to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Danny Ray Cobb for the sixth district seat. Dr. Dennis E. Haskins, Larry Worsham, and Joseph Sutton. This list will not prevent anyone from District 6 from having their name placed in nomination for the commission seat up for election on Monday.

Resolutions will be given authorizing amendments to the budget from the county general fund, highway fund, and general purpose school fund.

Resolutions will also be discussed approving a delinquent tax attorney to begin the collection process for unpaid property taxes, and to approve the county solid waste/recycling department to accept a litter grant contract from the state.

Monday’s meeting will take place at 9:00am at the courthouse.
