A five month study will be conducted by Lawrence County to determine if the region is a suitable location to host test track for the state's growing automotive industry.

Public officials reiterate that this is a preliminary study to see if the county would be suitable for a facility.

Joint effort between the county and city of Lawrenceburg is a partnership with Applus IDIADA, an automotive engineering testing company in Spain.

The project is being funded by a $250,000 grant from the State of Tennessee provided by the Department of Community Development.

If the project materializes, Lawrence County could gain hundreds of new jobs and millions of dollars in investment.
