Lynnville Mayor and Alderman passed the second reading to change monthly meetings to be held on the first Monday of each month.

If changes are approved on third reading in March, the April 1 meeting will be held at 5 p.m.

A petition was presented by Robert White, a former alderman, asking the board to follow the Lynnville charter, which he said sets meetings at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month

White said several people work during the day and cannot make a 5 p.m. meeting.

According to Lynnville Mayor Charles Vandiver, the city's charter gives board the authority to set and change the dates and times of each meeting.

After the February meeting White said he plans to pursue the matter.
