The Maury County Animal Shelter is participating in the Home for the Holidays Adopt-a-thon this weekend, giving potential pet owners the chance to take home a new furry friend without having to pay the standard adoption charges.

Sponsored by Tails of the Trail, adoption fees over the 48-hour period from Friday, thru Saturday, will be covered by the volunteer organization on select animals.

The shelter has dozens of dogs and cats, ready for adoption.
