A Columbia business owner was killed Sunday after his motorcycle crashed on Nashville Highway near the intersection of Lookout Drive.

Units from Columbia Fire & Rescue, Columbia Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Maury Regional EMS responded to the scene at about 2:15pm Sunday, according to the incident report.

The report identified the victim as Sederick T. Armstrong of Columbia. Armstrong was the owner of Armstrong Auto Repair.

The wreck occurred in the northbound lanes, blocking the road. Traffic was temporarily re-routed through nearby neighborhood roads for about an hour as CPD and THP officers investigated the scene.

Assistant Fire Chief Nick Brown was on duty at the time. He said two vehicles were involved in the crash, but could not give details on how it happened, except that no injuries to the other vehicle’s passengers were reported.

Columbia Police Department is handling the investigation.
