Detectives have identified Cynthia Collier and her 4 children, found dead in their Columbia home Monday night.

Sheriff Bucky Rowland says all five were shot in the head by 2 guns found at the scene. They believe Mrs. Collier shot her children, then killed herself, but they don't know what led to the tragedy.

The children are identified as Bo Li, 14, Meigin Lin, 14, Lia Lin,15, and Kaileigh Lin, 17. All four children were adopted at two separate times.

Authorities responded to the call on Carters Creek Pike just after 6 p.m. Monday.

Maury County Sheriff Bucky Rowland said an adult child came home from work and discovered the bodies of the mother, three girls and one boy.

Roland said there was vague information at the house indicating that it was a murder-suicide, but he stopped short of saying Cynthia Collier left a suicide note.

The sheriff said they have not had any previous calls from the home, which he described as immaculate. He said Collier was a stay-at-home mom and the four children were home-schooled.

The victims were taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
