The Columbia Police Department will host an annual community appreciation celebration next week.

The celebration is scheduled for 5pm until 6:30pm Tuesday at Riverwalk Park, the evening will give residents an opportunity to meet with law enforcement representatives from Maury County and greater Middle Tennessee.

The event will include demonstrations of public safety equipment and displays from the Columbia Police Department, Columbia Fire and Rescue, Maury Regional EMS, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Detectives from the Columbia Police will be there, giving demonstrations on the tools they use to investigate crime scenes. The local district attorney’s office will also answer questions from the public.
