A 19-year old girl and her mother are dead and their family member, a 15-year-old girl, is hospitalized with stab wounds following an incident early Wednesday morning in the Lester community.

According to media sources the Limestone County Sheriff's Office identified the victims Wednesday afternoon as Rosa Lee Maldonado, 19, and Rosa Aminita Maldonado, 44.

"We received a call a little after 1:00am Wednesday morning from what we believe is one of the victims here in the residence saying her sister was trying to stab her," according to Sheriff’s  spokesman Stephen Young.

Sheriff Mike Blakely described the 911 call as "one of the worst calls" he has listened to in his 47-year career in law enforcement.

Deputies responded to the mobile home in the 10000 block of West Schoolhouse Road and found the Maldonados fatally stabbed, as well as the 15-year-old suspect, who deputies said was stabbing herself in the head and neck when emergency crews arrived. That suspect has not been identified at this time.

The suspect was taken to Huntsville Hospital to be treated for her stab wounds. Blakely said Wednesday evening that she was stable and not expected to stay in the hospital very long.
