John Nelson II of Pulaski passed away Sunday evening, February 2nd, 2020, at NHC of Pulaski.  He was born on June 18, 1943 in Pulaski, Tennessee and was 76 years old.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his family. He was an avid basketball and football fan with his favorites being Kentucky basketball and Alabama football. John played basketball and football in high school for the Bridgforth High School Blue Devils. He was a longtime devoted member of Blanch Chapel MB Church.  He was employed at Union Bank for 10 years and at Queen Ann Funeral Home for 33 years. John was also a farmer and loved going to horseshows with his pride being getting to go to the TN Walking Horse Celebrations that were held.

Visitation will be 11:00 to 12:00 Saturday, February 8th, 2020, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 12:00pm Saturday, February 8th, 2020, Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Alfred Nelson, Sr. and Ruth Marie Marsh Shirley, sons, David Nelson and Gerald Houston, maternal grandparents, R.G. Marsh and Marine Cox, paternal grandparents, Richard and Amanda Nelson, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Nelson, Shirley Nelson, Linda Nelson, and Martha Nelson, brothers, James A. Nelson, Michael Nelson and Pete Nelson.

He is survived by his;

Daughter, Pamela (Jeff) McCord of Pulaski

Son, John Nelson III of Pulaski

Son, Kerry (Michelle) Nelson of Chapel Hill

Son, Anthony (Chandra) Nelson of Pulaski

Step Daughter, Katrina Lockett of Pulaski

Stepson, Joe Lockett of Pulaski

Daughter-in-laws, Tina Houston of Pulaski and Patricia Nelson of Newport, VA
