Robert Thurman (Mule) Newton, age 78, died on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, Nashville, TN.

He was born in Pulaski, TN, on July 29, 1941, retired from Maremont Gabriel Corp., served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, preceded in death by his parents, Herman Dean and Florence Eubertha Newton, brothers, Clarence Newton and James Newton, sisters, Elizabeth Felker and Wilma Pierce.

Visitation will be on Thursday, 1-23-20,  from 4PM to 8PM at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 1-24-20, at 2PM at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Survivors are:  Lifelong loving partner of 35 years, Evelyn Green of Pulaski, TN, step sons, Tim Green of Pulaski, TN, Rocky and Stoney Green both of Ardmore, step daughter, Jenifer Taylor of Pulaski, TN, brother, Porter Newton of Lawrenceburg, TN, sister, Velma Mitchell of Pulaski, TN, host of nieces, nephews and friends,  7 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, 2 step great – great grandchildren.
