John William “J.W.” Pitts of Pulaski passed away Monday morning, November 4, 2019, at his home.  He was born in Limestone County, Alabama on December 13th, 1934 and was 84 years of age.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.  He was of the Church of Christ Faith, worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator, and loved to go fishing.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 Tuesday, November 5th, 2019, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.

The funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 6th in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. Mark Johnson and Terrell Pitts officiating.

Burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Coleman and Velier Craig Pitts, brothers, Herbert Pitts, Evans Pitts, Eldridge Yearta and David Yearta.

He is survived by his

Son, Johnny R. Pitts of Shelbyville

Son, Billy Pitts of Pulaski

Daughter, Deborah Pitts of Whitehouse

Daughter, Linda Vaughn of Pulaski

Daughter, Julie Pitts of Pulaski

7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren

Sister, Eva (Robert) Griffin of Ethridge

Sister, Dot (Don) Hill of Athens

Several Nephews, Nieces and cousins also survive.
