James Doyle Trigg, 74, retired Teacher for the Giles County School System, died Tuesday, in Alabama.

Born in Giles County, He began his 35-year teaching career in 1972 and taught at Jones High School and Richland High School. He was a member of Lynnville First Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and taught Sunday School.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Trigg of Lynnville, a son, James “Jimmy” K.  Trigg, Sr. of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Rachel Trigg  Allred of Culleoka; three grandchildren, siblings, James Knox Trigg, IV, Gayle Willoughby, Lee Ann  Hagevold, Jeanne Marie  Woody, Gilbert  Locke, John Clark Locke, and Michael Locke;; and several nieces, and nephews,

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Blake Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery with military honors, visitation is Saturday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
