Mr. Shirley Poole of Pulaski died Tuesday at Hewitt House Assistant Living in Pulaski. He was born in Diana and was 89 years old.


He graduated from Beech Hill High School where he played basketball and was Valedictorian. He went to Martin College and attended Middle Tennessee State College. He was a veteran of the United States Army, principal and coach at Elkton, was assistant Superintendent of Giles County Schools, active in the Exchange Club and member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.


Visitation will be this evening (Wednesday) from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.


Services will be tomorrow (Thursday) at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Paul McKinney and Caroline Farmer officiating.


Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.


Memorial donations are suggested to Pisgah Cemetery Fund or Bridgeforth Middle School, Mary Ann Bass, 1316 Mill Street, Pulaski, TN. 38478.


Survivors include Daughters, Debra and husband Don Tillman of Pulaski, Mary Ann and husband Johnny Bass of Pulaski, Son, Dennis Poole of Elkton, 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law, Brownie F. West of Pulaski, Numerous friends and several cousins also survive.
