Nelle Edwards of Giles County and Knoxville died Monday in Knoxville. She was born in Minor Hill and was 103 years old.   

She taught in Giles County schools, spending most of her career at Minor Hill elementary school but also teaching in Beech Hill, Elkton, and Pulaski elementary schools. 

She was a Sunday School teacher in Minor Hill Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Pulaski, Elkton Baptist Church and Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville.

Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Gravesides services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. Saturday at Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, in care of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, 701 Merchant Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee  37912.

Survivors include her son Larry Haney Edwards and wife Linda; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandsons.
