Dr. Paul McLin Wakefield, age 90, of Fayetteville, died Sunday at Lynchburg Nursing Center

Visitation is 10:00am – 12:00 noon Saturday, with the funeral service following at 12:00 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Whitney Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Higgins Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens.

Dr. Wakefield was born in Giles County, and was a graduate of Martin Methodist College, Middle Tennessee State University, and earned his Doctors degree in Dentistry from the University of Tennessee Memphis. He owned and operated a dental practice in Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife  Nancy Ruth Clemmer Wakefield; sons, Colin Wakefield  of Fayetteville, and John Kevin Wakefield of White House, a daughter, Cynthia Hinson  of Athens, three brothers, Glen Wakefield of Alabama, Carl Wakefield, and Earl “Corky” Wakefield both of Pulaski, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Martin Methodist College, 433 West Madison St., Pulaski, Tennessee, 38478 or the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 200 Elk Avenue N., Fayetteville, TN 37334.
