Doc Alfred Charles Standen, age 84 of Pulaski, died Sunday at the Hewitt House Assisted Living in Pulaski.


He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from Ohio State University with four diplomas after eleven years of study. He was a member of the East Hill Church of Christ and a beloved veterinarian for Giles County Animal Hospital and a member of the Giles County Honor Guard.


Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.


Services will be 1:00pm Wednesday in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.


Burial with full military honors will be in Giles Memory Gardens.


The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Short Mountain Bible Camp c/o 650 Bible Camp Road Woodbury, TN 37190


Survivors include a son, Gary Butler and wife Lisa of Ohio, Brother, Robert James Standen of Ohio, Step-daughter, Casey Hudgins of Duck River, Step-Grandchildren, Danielle Evans of Santa Fe, Jane Blackburn of Duck River, Jessica Hudgins of Prospect.
