The city of Pulaski will receive a little more than $617,000 in grant money Governor Bill Haslam told a group of local and state officials and local residents gathered at Pulaski City Hall this morning.

The money will go to improvements of sidewalks and streets and for landscaping in downtown Pulaski, which will tie into existing improvements. It also will be used to connect sidewalks downtown to residential, school and park areas.

Haslam said getting selected for a Transportation Alternative Grant is very competitive process, which made his announcement that Pulaski is receiving the money even more significant.

Special guests included State Representative Barry Doss, who Ford described as a friend of Giles County.
