The Giles County Office of Emergency Management reminds those who are at risk due to inadequate cooling in their homes, who are working outdoors or if you just need a place to cool off, there are shelters set up around the county that remain open today.

These cooling shelters are open at Giles County Senior Citizens Center, First Baptist Church in Pulaski, First United Methodist Church, New Zion Baptist Church and Oak Grove Baptist Church.

For more information, call the OEM office at 363-1342.

OEM Director Jeremy Holley says to stay indoors if possible, but if you cannot, he advises to drink plenty of fluids, wear light clothing and take breaks often. If possible, Holley advises to reschedule outdoor work or activities.
