The Giles County Office of Emergency Management warns that a heat advisory has been issued for Middle Tennessee today through Friday, but this weekend is expected to be just as hot.

For those who are at risk due to inadequate cooling in their homes, who are working outdoors or if you just need a place to cool off, O-E-M Director Jeremy Holley said there are shelters set up around the county.

OEM Director Jeremy Holley says to stay indoors if possible, but if you cannot, he advises to drink plenty of fluids, wear light clothing and take breaks often. If possible, Holley advises to reschedule outdoor work or activities.
