Lawrence County Sheriff Jimmy Brown has issued a statement on the controversial McKamey Manor Extreme Terror Attraction recently opened in Summertown, according to WLX.com.

The Sheriff said he had met with the district attorney, the county executive, and county attorney and his department will work with local leaders to do what can be done within the confines of the law to help address concerns expressed by the citizens of Summertown about McKamey Manor.

McKamey Manor, formerly headquartered in San Diego, California, advertises itself as an interactive survival horror experience based on participants' personal fears. Patrons sign waivers to participate in the tours that include simulated abductions and assaults and is filmed by Manor organizers.

Lawrence County Commissioner Scott Franks said Saturday that authorities responded to a report of a blindfolded, screaming woman being dragged by two men from a car into the McKamey Manor location on Stephenson Road. A signed contract by the woman was produced, giving permission for the simulated event. The woman also admitted to deputies that she was participating freely.

Sheriff Brown asks that anyone with questions or concerns about the Summertown location to call the Sheriff's Department at 931-762-3626.
