Funding has been approved for a new Elk River boat ramp and parking lot says State Representative Barry Doss.

The $140,000 dollar project was officially approved today by the State Building Commission, which oversees construction of all public state buildings and structures.

Doss said this is a worthwhile project that will help increase access to the Elk River’s abundant natural resources.

The Elk River is a tributary of the Tennessee River and runs through both Tennessee and Alabama. In total, the river stretches over 195 miles.

Barry Doss represents House District 70, which includes all of Giles and the majority of Lawrence Counties. Reach him by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone at (615) 741-7476.
