A card-skimming device was detected at a fuel pump of one of Fayetteville’s convenience stores and it has authorities urging everyone to be diligent in reviewing their credit card and/or bank statements.

Consumers are asked to report any suspicious activity to your banking institution, which will then advice you of the proper steps to take in an attempt to correct any problems.

Detective Lt. Joel Massey of the Fayetteville Police Department said that over the last few months, the department has received several reports of fraudulent activity appearing on people’s bank and credit card statements.
