A woman and her boyfriend were taken into custody for multiple charges earlier this month following an investigation by Lawrence County Authorities.

Adult Protective Services and the District Attorney’s Office, along with the Loretto Police Department obtained warrants April 12th against Kelly Chriest for forgery and theft by taking advantage of the elderly.

Loretto Police and Lawrence County Deputies served the warrants April 13th at a home on North Main Street. Both was Kelly Chriest and her boyfriend, Dennis Whitaker Jr. were arrested for failure to appear and domestic assault warrants, according to authorities.

In addition to the offenses mentioned, Chriest and Whitaker were both charged with theft over $1,000 for a motorized wheelchair, according to authorities.

Sunday, officials announced both individuals were being held in the Lawrence County Jail, with Chriest’s bond set at $77,000 and Whitaker’s bond set at $34,000.
