Commuters that drive through North Alabama take note, three road resurfacing projects were slated to start this week in Northern Alabama weather permitting.

In Limestone County, Grayson Carter and Son Contracting will start a $2.2 million resurfacing of nearly six miles of US-72 from Shaw Road to York Lane, west of Athens.

In Lawrence County, contractor Rogers Group will begin a $2 million resurfacing of five miles of SR-20 from the Colbert County Line to CR-585, west of Courtland.

And in Cherokee County, Wiregrass Construction will start a nearly $1 million resurfacing of three miles of SR-35 from SR-273, north of Gaylesville, to the DeKalb County line.

All motorists are to expect delays due to single-lane closures within the work zones.
