Festival season is cranking-up in earnest, here’s a peek at festivals in Middle Tennessee that start today.

The Mule Day Celebration in Maury County dates back to more than 180 years ago.

The annual celebration of the long-eared animals will take place from April 4th through 7th, but the Mule Train headed to Mule Day is already moving through the area.

According to the city officials, the multi-day festival attracts thousands of attendees to Columbia and the parade is the highlight of the event.

Square dancing, a mule-driving contest, horse show and flea market are a few events that are featured during the festival.
