A former Tennessee Titans scout has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend and her unborn child.

Blaise Taylor, 27, was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals at the request of Metro Nashville Police Department in Utah after the grand jury indictment. Taylor worked as a pro scout for the Titans for four years.

Taylor is accused of poisoning Jade Benning on February 25th, 2023, and the unborn baby which Taylor allegedly fathered.

Benning was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance after Taylor called 911 and said Benning appeared to be having an allergic reaction and asked for paramedics. Police said Benning’s condition immediately became critical. Her unborn fetus died February 27th. Police said Benning was not able to be interviewed by detectives before she died March 6th, 2023.

Police said months of investigation involving scientists from the crime lab and doctors from the Medical Examiner’s Office, led to Wednesday’s murder indictment against Taylor.

After Benning and the child’s death, Taylor moved to Utah.

Metro Nashville Police will be working with Utah authorities to arrange Taylor’s return to Nashville, which will likely take weeks.
