Two Limestone Correctional Facility officers have been indicted for assaulting an inmate.

Jesse Cobb and Samuel Dial were indicted February 8th for assaulting inmate William Rhinsmith, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. The corrections officers are out on bond.

According to authorities, both have been assigned non-contact posts pending the outcome of the criminal investigation by the department’s Law Enforcement Services Division.

Rhinesmith has been transferred to another facility, and is now being held in Kilby Infirmary. He began serving a five-year sentence on a public health/morals charge in July 2023.
