The man accused of killing a Tennessee deputy and injuring another last week was taken into custody in Knoxville, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says Kenneth DeHart was taken into custody Tuesday. DeHart is accused of shooting and killing 43-year-old Deputy Greg McCowan during a traffic stop Thursday.

He is also accused of shooting Deputy Shelby Eggers who was taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
