A pedestrian was killed Tuesday while trying to cross Interstate 65 the Limestone County coroner confirmed.

Coroner Mike West said the man had wrecked his car and was walking across the interstate to find help when he was struck by a tractor-trailer.

The incident took place near the Alabama-Tennessee state line.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are investigating the incident.
