A home on Booth Chapel Road in Minor Hill is still under investigation after fire rendered it a total loss Friday.

Emergency personnel were called to the residence at 700 Booth Chapel Road just after 5:30 in the evening, according to Gikles Ciunty Fire Marshal Jeremy Holley.

James Cox owns the rental property, but has a tenant, Leonard Kent. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to media reports.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The state Fire Marshal's office is helping in the investigation.

Responding to the fire call were units from the Giles County EMA, EMS and Sheriff's Department.
