Well, it's almost time for the annual fair to set up in Giles County, which is sponsored by the Pulaski Lions Club.

The week starts out Tuesday, Aug. 8, when exhibitors will enter and set up their booths, with the exception of the flower and plant exhibits which will be set up on Wednesday.

The fairway filled with rides and carnival games will set up starting Thursday, and the fun on that day includes the open and junior beef show. Thursday's feature will be the Junk Car Jump and Run.

Thursday is also Buddy Night, when two people can purchase one wrist band for the rides. The buddies must ride together in order to use the wrist band, said a Pulaski Lions Club spokesman.

Friday's feature is the motorcross and Saturday's feature is the demolition derby.

The Lions Club Food Concession will be open each day and night and the carnival will open each day in the early afternoon and close late at night for the rest of the week.

On Sunday afternoon, the open and junior breeding sheep show is planned, along with the Giles County Fairest of the Fair pageant. Pageant officials remind all Senior Miss contestants that the winner will receive a thousand dollar scholarship.

Applications may be picked up at Chapman's Flowers or the Chamber of Tourism and Commerce.
