It will take two years to finish a project to upgrade the electrical substation that feeds the Industrial Park South, according to Pulaski Electric System President/CEO Richard Kelley.

The substation was constructed in 2002, but it was never fully built for growth in the Industrial Park South, he said.

The two-year project will cost around $3 million, Kelley said. Half of that will be spent this year and will be paid in cash. Kelley said instead of borrowing the money and paying interest, the Pulaski Power Board has worked hard to build up cash revenues for the IP South project.

The next meeting of the Pulaski Power Board is set for 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 25, at PES.
