There is one thing different about the 2017 Fairest of the Fair. It's scheduled for the end of the week during the Giles County Fair.

Young ladies from birth to age 20 who live in Giles County are eligible for the Saturday, Aug. 13, pageant set to begin at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Giles County Agri-Park. There are seven age divisions in the pageant sponsored by the Pulaski Lions Club.

Registration fees are due when the application is submitted. Contestants have until Aug. 4 to pay the early entry fee of $35.

The winner of the Senior Miss division will receive a $1,000 dollar scholarship. Contestants cannot be age 21 before Dec. 31. Also, contestants in the Senior Miss division will be asked a question on stage. Contestants in Little Miss, Pre-Teen Miss and Junior Miss divisions will be asked to say their name and age.
A winner and first and second runners-up will be chosen in each division.

Attire for ages birth to 8 years old is pageant wear or Sunday best; for ages 9 through 12, formal wear may be added to the attire and ages 13 to 20 will wear formal attire only.

Pick up applications at Chapman's Flowers on Third Street or the Giles County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce on the West side of the Pulaski Square.
