All Giles County Schools remain open despite the cancellation of upcoming classes at Martin Methodist College.

Health officials say no cases of the coronavirus has been reported this week in Giles County.

Schools in the county are scheduled for Spring Break the week of March 23rd.

According to the CDC, the risk of being exposed to the coronavirus (COVID-19) for most people is low. The CDC recommends taking simple, everyday steps to avoid catching or spreading respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.  These include covering your cough or sneeze and thoroughly washing or sanitizing your hands. Call your doctor and stay home if you are sick

Several colleges have already canceled classes and are preparing for online-only courses for a couple of weeks, while almost every university has restricted travel in some way.

Martin Methodist College canceled classes for March 16th through March 20th to help prevent potential spread of the virus and prepare for the probable online completion of spring coursework.
